Tomorrow’s stage 12 into Mende will be a really exciting stage to watch. Not only is it a good stage for a breakaway but there will also be a great battle for GC with a steep uphill finish into Mende.

This is the same route that we raced over earlier in the year in Paris-Nice. On that occasion, Contador won the stage in convincing fashion so it will be interesting to see what he can do tomorrow against the likes of Andy Schleck and Sanchez. It will also be a great indication to see how the guys fair on a steep climb like what we will see next week in the Pyrenees.

On a personal note, I’ve been blown away by the messages of support and encouragement since I abandoned the Tour. It has been a tough few days but I’m already planning my comeback and the next part of my season including hopefully racing for Australia at the World Championships.
