After competing in the Tour of Luxembourg followed by a three-day training camp in the Alps, Simon will now line up in the Tour de Suisse, starting in Lugano tomorrow.
The Tour of Luxembourg provided Simon with a good hit out and the opportunity to fine-tune his form leading into Suisse and the Tour.
“I really enjoyed the Tour of Luxembourg. It was a great race with nice length stages. The terrain was demanding enough to get a good workout each day and I felt like my condition improved with every stage”.
After the conclusion of Luxembourg, Simon transferred to Annecy where he spent three days reviewing some crucial climbs in this year’s edition of the Tour de France.
“I had a good look at stages seven, eight and nine which was really worth doing as there are some points in these stages that will make a big impact on the race. Stage nine into Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is particularly tough”.
“I’ve worked really hard on my climbing since the classics so Suisse will be a good test of my condition in the high mountains. All the guys racing Suisse will be looking to fine tune their form leading into the National Championships and the Tour”.
