Simon arrives into Europe
19th February 2008
Simon has arrived in Europe after a detour via the Tour de Langkawi. It will be a busy week prior to his first race at the GP Lugano with Simon moving from Nice, where he has being living for the past three years, to Monaco 20km down the road.

Tour of Langkawi
17th February 2008
Simon completed the Tour of Langkawi today after 11 tough days of racing. Team mate Jeremy Hunt managed to pick up 2nd on the final stage, which complemented his stage win earlier in the week. Credit Agricole had a solid week with Jean-Marc Marino finishing 8th on General Classification and the finishing 9th.

Buller Bike Ambassador

Simon has joined forces with Mt Buller to become a Buller Bike Ambassador. His first objective was to complete a timed ride up the mountain setting a benchmark for cycling enthusiast to challenge. Simon named in Australian Squad

6 September 2007

Simon has been named in the 2007 Australian Squad to compete in the World Road Championships in Stuttgart, Germany at the end of the month. The other squad members include Tour de France runner-up Cadel Evans, team mates Robbie McEwen and Matt Lloyd, T-Mobile riders Michael Rogers, Scott Davis, and Adam Hansen, Rabobank's William Walker and Matt Hayman, Allan Davis and Trent Lowe from Discovery and fellow Cote d'Azur neighbours Brad McGee and Christopher Sutton. The final team will be selected on the 17th of September.

Lorraine Stage 1 Update

Simon was happy to get through stage one of the Tour de Lorraine yesterday after nearly 1 month since his last race. Team mate Ludovic Turpin took the stage win with an attack in the closing kilometers. Simon finished back in 87th.

Simon will now be heading to the Tour de Lorraine in the north of France instead of the Tour de Catalogne in Spain.

Injury Update

12 May 2007

Simon had a CAT scan on Thursday on the injury he sustained in the prologue at the Tour de Romandie. It was feared that he may have fractured his pelvis but thankfully this was not the case. The official diagnosis was a deep bruise to the bone and possible tear to the adductor. He has resumed light training and is hoping to be back racing within the next week. His racing program may change as a result of the injury.

Simon pulls out of the Tour de Romandie

After crashing in the prologue yesterday, Simon has unfortunately had to withdraw from the Tour de Romandie due to injury. At this stage it looks like a minor tear to the adductor.

Simon hit the deck while decending during the prologue of the Tour de Romandie. 'I was decending a bit too fast and unfortunately came down pretty hard on one of the technical corners. I've got some skin off and am feeling a bit stiff and sore, but I should be right'. Tomorrow's 157.8km race between Granges-Paccot and La Chaux de Fonds will be tough with two category 1 climbs and two category 2 climbs.

Simon has come 4th in the final stage at Circuit de la Sarth behind training buddy and fellow Aussie Chris Sutton (Cofidis). Simon finished 18th on GC, 43 seconds behind Andreas Kloden (Astana).

Simon has placed 23rd in the third stage time trial of Circuit de la Sarthe. With two stage's to go Simon sits in 22nd place, 29 seconds down on race leader Andreas Kloden (Astana).

Cycle 4 Kids charity ride departs Brisbane

The Cycle 4 Kids charity ride supporting the Starlight Foundation and the Monash Kids Medical Centre departs Brisbane tomorrow for the 2000km ride to Melbourne. Simon's performance in the Tour du Haut Var over the weekend has seen him take the lead in the opening round of the French Cup. The Coupe de France is a 15 round points based series open only to French registered teams. The next race in the series will be Cholet-Pays de Loire, won in 2006 by Australian Chris Sutton (Cofidis).

Simon becomes event patron for the ‘Cycle 4 Kids’ charity ride

Simon has had the pleasure of becoming the patron for the Cycle 4 Kids charity ride. The team at Cycle 4 Kids have organise a cycling event from Brisbane to Melbourne in March 2007. Travelling 2000km through three States and over one hundred towns, Cycle 4 Kids hopes to raise awareness for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Monash Kids at the Monash Medical Centre. The target of the event is to raise in excess of $50,000 for both charities.
